This Season Requires More Than Pretty Prayers

This season is about more than pretty prayers...

porscha fryar ministries

Hi beautiful,

About two weeks ago, while traveling, I received a prophetic word from Apostle Brandon Clack at a Dallas ministry event with my husband, Apostle Timothy Fryar. He confirmed—through the Holy Spirit—my call to lead and shepherd women as a Spiritual Mother, even describing, in detail, my internal wrestling with whether I was worthy, called, or capable.

Apostle Clack then prophesied about the next season, declaring that more Daughters would come to my ministry. He confirmed my prophetic calling and said the Lord would restore my stamina, allowing me to operate with new grace in my sleep and waking hours.

I received the prophetic word with faith, not knowing what was up ahead.

Only 10 days after the trip to Dallas, and two days after accompanying my husband and family to lay his aunt to rest in North Carolina, I endured four days of pain so intense that sleeping, eating, laying down, standing, and even thinking clearly became impossible!

My courage, endurance, stamina, and personal declarations were all tested. I remember thinking, "Lord, how could you tell me that you would give me supernatural stamina, and then allow this pain to wrack my body like this??"

I didn't know it yet, but I was about to enter into a season of Focusing to Fight.

After a few days of toughing through the pain at home, my whole arm, from shoulder to fingertip, began swelling, tingling, and screaming as if it was on fire.

I quickly found myself in an Advanced Care center here in Georgia, and after 15 hours, two sets of X-rays, an MRI of my spine and neck, a CT scan and ultra sound, (to rule out blood clots), and numerous mumblings of "we're not sure what's causing this, but we're going to keep looking," I was released from the doctor's care at 1:15 am with many questions still unanswered.

My husband drove us home that morning in a car filled with sobering silence.

Nothing was making sense.

He was exhaused and frustrated with the hospital's care. I was fed up, and struggling to locate a measure of peace. After all, my husband had just laid his aunt to rest, and days later, I'd found myself in Advanced (urgent) care.

When we arrived home, I went to a place of solitude and cried out to God, "WHAT IS GOING ON?!"

Have you ever experienced a season so crazy that thinking about what's happening seems to make what's actually happening 5 times worse? Seasons where all is well, and then days later, things are not well?

That was me not too many days ago.

I'll be honest, in those moments of pain and questioning, my thoughts threatened to derail the promise spoken over me.

The pain of the current season threatened to dash my hope.

As I was pressing through recovery at home this week, I was reminded during a time of worship, that for the last few months, the Lord had been telling His Daughters (you and me) to maintain our joy, to hope again, to get up, walk forward, and trust that He’ll perfect what concerns us, and, even earlier this year, to settle in, settle down, and boldly thrive.

And today, as I write to you with my arm in a sling and joy in my soul, I want you to know:

The Lord intends for both you and me to operate with supernatural stamina in this season. But in order to flow in it, You’ve got to FOCUS.

In God's infinite grace and wisdom, He prompted me, before my physical pain began, to revisit my Bible Plan, "You've Got to Focus to Fight," and now I feel the prompting of Holy Spirit to extend the same invitation to you.

I'm inviting you to join me for a FREE 5-Day Bible Plan Challenge starting on Monday, May 11, and ending on Friday, May 15, where we'll walk through my YouVersion Bible Plan 'You've Got to Focus to Fight: A 5-Day Guide to Focusing Through Life's Challenges for God's Girls.'

During our time together, we'll read the plan daily in the Bible app, post comments, and then meet for 3 Live Teaching Nights on Zoom, scheduled for Monday (5/11), Wednesday (5/13), and Friday (5/15) at 7:30 ET each night.

Hear me, Reader: This is not a time to play around with your prayer life, your thought life, your consecration, or your destiny.

If you’re ready to overcome and reclaim your focus, click below now and join me for 5 days starting on May 11.

We're here, we're determined, and above all, we're Focusing to Fight Well. Are you in?

Grace and peace,
